Announcing the Gerda Hnatyshyn Memorial Fund

The July 14th passing of our beloved President, Gerda Hnatyshyn, was a shock. Her selfless dedication to supporting Canadian artists, particularly young and emerging artists, remains an inspiration to our small team and board of art-lovers. She led with persistent kindness and bold, feisty optimism.
Many friends of hers and supporters of the Foundation have asked how they can honour Mrs. Hnatyshyn’s memory. Her greatest wish, which she expressed almost daily, was for the Foundation that she built from the ground up following the death of her adored husband, the late Right Honourable Ray Hnatyshyn, to carry on its support of promising artists in all disciplines.
To honour her extraordinary life, Mrs. Hnatyshyn would have loved nothing more than a charitable donation to the Foundation’s award fund or 20th anniversary project, so that her vision can live on.
We have set up a special fund, the Gerda Hnatyshyn Memorial Fund, for friends, colleagues, neighbours, and admirers of Mrs. Hnatyshyn’s beautiful work to help her legacy live on for many years to come. Through the donation form linked below, you can choose whether your donation goes toward our regular programs or our Ukraine - Heritage, Spirit and Future project. Both were close to Mrs. Hnatyshyn’s heart.
The loss of this incredible leader is deeply felt in our offices and our lives. It is an honour to carry on her legacy, and we look forward to supporting countless artists in the years to come.
